FFL will hold a Brexit Presentation at the Aberdeen Expo show on Friday between 3 and 5 pm. FFL invite everyone attending the show to this presentation and Q&A in the Balmoral Suite, next to the main entrance.
This presentation will cover Brexit policy as detailed in the extensive FFL policy textbook which was launched in February in Westminster, and this month over 1500 of these books were distributed around the industry.
We are also delighted to welcome Eivind Jacobsen from Faroe, who will highlight and detail the Faroes effort control management systems and the reasons behind them.
FFL launched at last year’s Expo with their successful event with Nigel Farage and Minister George Eustice.
After kick starting the campaign and carrying the baton for the industry, which culminated in the famous Thames flotilla during the Brexit campaign.
We will be at this years Aberdeen Expo at Stand 27 where we look forward to meeting and discussing all things Brexit.
John Ashworth of FFL said “Using the extensive constitutional research built up over years with FAL and Save Britain’s Fish the policy details many of the pressing constitutional problems the industry faces which we hope to highlight during this presentation as we are far from being out of the woods”.
“The industry is on a constitutional knife edge as to whether the opportunity presented by Brexit for a clean slate is realised or squandered which would see the industry finally ruined under a continued, shadow CFP.”
Aaron Brown of FFL added “Even with Brexit the industry still faces the existential problem of the discard ban. This policy details solutions that address the causes rather than the symptoms of the current failures.
“The presentation will outline future policy to allow a clean break with evolutionary management proposals. Ones that would allow reactive management in tune with the ecology which would work for all fishermen from largest company to family businesses so that we can realise our industries vast potential and rejuvenate our industry, communities and a way of life.
“Rather than mitigation measures that would see continual decline by continuing with the current EU systems. It’s now or never to continue on the current path of consolidation or to secure a future for all and we look forward to outlining a way ahead for the industry and to seeing everyone at the show.”
